Jane Austen is celebrating to learn that her most famous male character will be played by the best actor evah!
I am bursting at the seams to share some outstanding news with you. My brilliant son has been chosen by a pair of incredibly insightful directors to play (drumroll, please)
MR. DARCY
in Pride and Prejudice.
My stage mother instincts are in full gear. I am seriously thinking about buying a full page ad in Variety to announce this. I think the child is going to be absolutely incredible. But I am honest enough to admit that I am totally prejudiced.
Get it? Prejudiced? Ha ha ha. I am so hilarious.
I am also super proud.

I am nearly as proud & possibly prejudiced as you, my dear.
Although, it will be weird having to not be all googly-eyed over your kid's version of Mr. Darcy when I've lusted for the screen versions. I promise no cougarish behavior.
Phew! I would hate to see you struggle with Mrs. Robinson tendencies. But I share the weirdness, since I've eagerly ogled Matthew M. in the role.
It will be wonderful to have you there to see my boy. XO
Very justified maternal pride...but be ready for the swarms of female attention that will follow on this role. (see bad mom's comment, but I was thinking more of females from the peer age group) Darcy is such a wonderful romantic character, I would think he'd generate swoons even if *not* the best actor ever!
Congrats! That's awesome! :)
Hmm, I should offer the thespian wish of breaking a leg then?
To your son. It doesn't count if the mom breaks hers - right?
Indeed, lisleman, I would prefer to keep my limbs unfractured. Thanks for the wellwishing for my offspring!
