Fun Jane Austen Goodies

I'm excited about the prospect of winning a pair of novels by Laurie Viera Rigler:

"Rude Awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict" and "Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict." I just learned of the contest at http://janeaustenaddict.com.

Go check out the website for details, and to watch a very clever video clip.

This has been a busy weekend for me - I helped with a great Halloween theatre event/fundraiser, and volunteered at the Annual Meeting of the Jane Austen Society of North America. When I'm less exhausted, I'll post some observations about it all.

For now, I've got my fingers crossed about winning these fun-sounding novels!

Jane Austen and Halloween . . . you wouldn't think they would mix, but I just noted that Sense and Sensibility was published today.
If you win these books, you must pass them on to a fellow Austen love, don't you think?

I've been meaning to write for weeks now; been thinking about you. We had a family from your very own TOWN come by JA House the other week. Of course I asked if they knew you . . . I was stunned that they didn't! :)

C and I have been staying up until midnight every night, watching Bleak House -- even better than Little Dorrit. Have you seen it?
She is having a Halloween party tonight and we've got Coraline and Sleepy Hollow for our "scary" movies. Also, lots of caramel corn. Happy Halloween to you and yours. xx

hope you don't mind a comment not much related to the post but I imagine you heard about the Rally of Sanity that was held yesterday. I thought Jon Stewart made some very good points.
Reading is good and I wish more people did it.

Bee, of course I will pass them on to you as soon as I've read them, providing, of course, I win them!

I've not seen Bleak House, but it's now on my list. As is Sleepy Hollow!

Hope you had a lovely party with your girl. I'll be over to catch up on your wonderful blog ASAP. It's always a delight! XOXO

lisleman, always good to hear from you - your comment need not relate to my blatherings! Yes, I heard about it, and the kids and I watched it via live streaming on Comedy Central's website. What fun! He is indeed a very wise fool, as is Colbert.

Most of my friends are pretty avid readers. I can't imagine not reading, and neither can my family. We have a gazillion bookcases in the house filled to the brim.

I just finished The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen. Was disappointed. Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte (same author, Syrie James) was much better. I read about these books you are posting about and am wondering how good they are. Hope you will keep us updated.
