I have returned from vacation. That which does not kill us makes us stronger.

Here I am, back at home after a week of fun on the east coast. We spent part of the time with Beloved Brother, Super Sister-in-law, and dear little Wonder Niece. That part was excellent.

Then we ventured to Colonial Williamsburg, where we explored old buildings and viewed special entertainments. At least, I thought the buildings were old until the tour guides explained that virtually everything is a reconstruction because so much was destroyed by fire or neglect over the years. And while some of the entertainments were really great, I was bitterly disappointed that the Grande Medley of Entertainment, which is publicized by the fire eater picture above, did not, in fact, have a single fire eater.

Ripoff!

I am still processing much of what happened to me during the past several days, and therefore will be unable to give you a detailed accounting for a while.

But I definitely feel cheated.

PS Maybe the reason no one eats fire anymore is because they are afraid it will get out of control and set fire to the new buildings made to look like colonial buildings. I guess that is legitimate, but then they need to stop showing that picture, getting people's hopes up.

PPS Just thinking about this is giving me heartburn. Think how much worse it would be if I were a fire eater.

Glad to see you are back. I haven't been to Williamsburg since I was a kid, thanks for the warning! I have only seen one fire eater, a bartender here in Houston. That was quite an unexpected venue for that activity.

Anyway, I enjoyed your post.
