UPDATED: Rain and a Mystery Link Just for You

I promised to volunteer in Amazing Girl Child's school today.
To work with the kids on reading.
And to help in the school's organic garden.
IT IS POURING OUTSIDE.

I'd like to stay and chat, but I need to go.
And get drenched.

Hope you're having a good day.
Here's a nice article for you to read.
In the warm, cozy environs of your home.
With a cup of tea.
While I serve as a place for raindrops to land.

Please keep your fingers crossed that I don't get pneumonia.

UPDATE: Here is the weather icon for today in my town:
My girl woke up with a very stuffy head. So we had to stay home together while she slept, got up, drank juice, slept, ate soup, slept, and watched Harry Potter. I hope she's better tomorrow. Especially since I promised to help a friend learn how to use her new Mac.

Just think of the tea you will enjoy, when you are done being the devoted mom that you are. :)

What an appropriate photo to have for a rainy day. Love it. Hope you were able to stay dry.

Love that soggy cat picture.

So did you get drenched? (I volunteer for things and then almost always regret them because I am a shameless homebody!)

Ooh, thanks for the article. I am such a Michelle fan!

Praise Jeebus! I was boycotting responding to the comments until SOMEONE acknowledged my excellent link. Thanks, Becky!!

Lisa - I enjoyed the tea even though I didn't wind up going in. :)

Annie - yeah, I love that pic too. And per my update, posted after your comment, I stayed plenty dry.

Jan - I assume that was meant to rub it in since you have such nice weather. Shame. Remember, hurricane season is karma's way of disciplining you for your smugness!

Bee - why do we do this, when all we want to do is curl up at home with a good book? Because we are supermamas.

Becky - me too, pal. And you get the gold star for clicking on the link.

I had Carlie home sick today too. For the millionth time this year it seems. Tim took the 8-noon shift and I got the noon-forever shift. Hope your gal is feeling better : )

I think I just saw this cat in Miami by the pool. I don't know if he fell in or was just having a bad hair day but he looked so pathetic it almost made me cry.
