Wordless Wednesday: Isn't It Ironic?

I will award five points to anyone who can identify why posting this picture on Wordless Wednesday might be considered ironic.

And by "ironic," I
don't mean it the way
Alanis Morissette uses it. Which would be the wrong way...

I bite at extra credit... And I was going to say "because the post isn't wordless". However, I see you used this as a post label, so that can't be the answer.

I am eager to hear the correct answer!

Cool looking place.

Well this is a stab in the dark and I'm new here but is it something to do with the blarney stone?

JaPRA - you get two points for at least trying. Which is more than I can say for the rest of the world! Humph.

Rachel Fox - welcome! you may be stabbing in the dark, but you have hit the mark. The irony is that on Wordless Wednesday, the photo is of Blarney Castle, where kissing the stone confers on the kisser the gift of gab.

The Amazing Children and I only blew a kiss to the blarney stone, so we have limited gab ability.

Effort points, hurray!

I once saw a travel show that featured people bending over backwards to kiss that thing. It looked scary to me. One little slip and down you go!

Now I feel like a winner! Saw you on Dave King's Pics and Poems and am going to borrow that Updike quote you added for another post. If that's OK...Where was the quote from, out of interest?

The Blarney Stone! ....(okay, I looked at the comments and cheated *laughing*)

JaPRA - the stone was also extremely nasty looking. I can't imagine how many germs are on there. We 3 looked at it and simultaneously said "Ewwwww!" Hence the blowkissing.

Rachel Fox - the quote was from one of those quote websites. I thought it was thinkexist, but now I can't find it again. It didn't cite anything specific like a date or work. Here's another - this IS from thinkexist - I suspect you'll enjoy as a creative person:

“I would especially like to recourt the Muse of poetry, who ran off with the mailman four years ago, and drops me only a scribbled postcard from time to time.”

Kathryn, shame on you! But since you posted a comment and freely admitted your dishonesty, I will give you a quarter point. That's incentive to try again next week... ;-)

I am visiting for the first time and wanted to see if my guess was right. It was! No points are expected, but I'm glad to have the satisfaction of having gotten at least one thing right today. And that's no Blarney!

(Thank you for your kind comments over at my place!)
